CHANTILLY, VA — The New Horizons Foundation — A Sheet Metal Industry Initiative has selected five key research projects for its 2003 agenda. At its recent Summit Challenge Council meeting, the leadership of the foundation agreed to commit more than $250,000 for project initiatives in the coming year. Improving Profit Margins Through Comprehensive Identification, Evaluation, and Mitigation of Contract Risk Factors; Investigating and Applying Lean Production Principles in the HVAC and Sheet Metal Industries; Quantification of the Effects of Schedule Compression of Labor Productivity; Tool and Material Control Systems; and Implementing Research Results.
