Dec. 19, 2008: AHR Expo Will Feature HVAC Mobile Green Classroom on Show Floor

WESTPORT, Conn. - The Partnership for Environmental Leadership, a collaboration of six industry associations, will be driving its HVAC Mobile Green Classroom onto the show floor at the 2009 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo). The classroom will provide attendees with free access to hands-on learning opportunities during the Expo, scheduled for Jan. 26-28, 2009 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The HVAC Mobile Green Classroom is an educational tool for going green. The training trailer demonstrates various equipment for HVACR professionals while also providing supplemental hands-on training opportunities in conjunction with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA’s) LEED AP training programs and the United Association (UA)/Mechanical Service Contractors of America’s (MSCA’s) Green Awareness Training and Certification Program.

The mobile classroom features mechanical systems that are designed to enhance a building’s energy efficiency while decreasing reliance on nonrenewable resources. Some of the green simulators found inside the 40-foot trailer include:

• Fuel cell technologies

• Wind power generation

• Solar heating systems

• Infiltration demonstrator

• Geothermal system trainer

• Gas-fired warm air heating demonstrator

• Residential pressure assist trainer

• Biological water treatment trainer

• Heat pump trainer

“The Mobile Green Classroom provides attendees with a great hands-on experience that will help educate them on how to go green as well as keep them at the leading edge of this critical movement,” said Clay Stevens, president of International Exposition Co., which produces and manages the AHR Expo.
