Contractors For The Week: 02/24/2003

  • S.I. Goldman Company Inc./Comfort Systems USA (Longwood, Fla.) is nearing completion of three contracts at Fifield Hall, the agricultural college of the University of Florida in Gainesville. Services include installation of pre-insulated underground pipe, plumbing systems, mechanical systems, and four air handlers.

  • Kenneth Klein, P.E., and Keith Fitzpatrick, P.E., have been named vice presidents of the New York office of Syska Hennessy Group, a consulting, engineering, technology, and construction firm.

  • Exelon Services (Chicago) has launched its online maintenance tracking system called InTouch. According to the company, customers with a maintenance agreement will have automatic access to service data through the website.

  • Several members of Contractors 2000 (White Bear Lake, Minn.) organized a competition to see which company could provide the most assistance to a food drive to help needy families. By the completion of the event, 17 member companies had collected nearly six tons of food and almost $2,000. MacGregor Plumbing & Heating Inc. (Harbor Springs, Mich.) grossed the most food items, contributing 1.2 tons of food, while Village Plumbing Company (Houston, TX) provided the largest cash contribution, donating $724.

  • Mr. Electric (Waco, Texas), a subsidiary of The Dwyer Group, has become an associate member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) (Richardson, Texas).
