Continental Register: Radial Dampers

A line of radial dampers, designed for T-bar (2 by 2, lay-in) diffusers in light commercial or institutional settings is available. The 3900 Series provides an alternative to standard butterfly dampers. The dampers are designed to be compatible with the 5400 Series collar, all T-bar diffusers using this collar, as well as all the company’s other fixed-collar T-bar diffusers. According to the manufacturer, the 3900 Series is also interchangeable with competitive models from other major manufacturers. The dampers are constructed of galvanized steel. Blades are precision-cut, providing consistently smooth operation and approximately 270 degrees of adjustment. The zinc die cast operator adjustment is beveled to guide the flat blade screwdriver in place. This can be especially helpful when installed visibility is low, says the company. Attachment tabs are pre-scored and pre-bent for quick installation. The radial damper is available in diameters of 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 inches and in carton quantities of 8 to 12, depending on the diameter of the dampers.
