According to the manufacturer, the Max-Vee Snow Shield™ has a unique design to prevent snow-clogged air filters from diminishing airflow into buildings. The guard incorporates a “deep pocket” design, which lowers face velocity and increases snow-melting efficiency, the company says. The company also states that this design features maximum constant drainage, prevents refreezing of snowmelt, and eliminates stagnant water pools. It can be installed in factory-built air handlers or field-built HVAC systems, as well as retrofitted for existing systems. It is available in various panel sizes for a range of 3,000 to 30,000 cfm each, and multiple panels can handle over 100,000 cfm. According to the manufacturer, a sensing probe detects the presence of snow, sleet, or hail and activates the equipment being controlled.
