MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development has introduced three certification programs for commissioning process providers. The three certifications are: Commissioning Process Authority Professional (CxAP, CAP), Commissioning Process Manager (CXM), and Commissioning Process Technical Support Provider (CxTS, CTS).

According to the university, the certification program objective is to recognize the practice proficiency of those involved in various areas of implementing the commissioning process as defined by NIBS/ASHRAE guidelines and current best practices.

The requirements for certification include completion of an application, proof that one is practicing, a report relevant to the certification, two referral letters, completion of a one-week commissioning process seminar or equivalent education, and successful completion of an examination.
