Commercial A/C Academy Opens

LAS VEGAS - LG Electronics announced at the International Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo in Las Vegas that it will continue to invest in the U.S. commercial air conditioning market. This investment is marked by the planned opening of a new Commercial Air Conditioning (CAC) training academy in Chicago in fall 2011.

“This announcement is an example of LG’s commitment to the U.S. marketplace and a result of LG’s continued growth,” noted James Lee, senior vice president, LG Electronics USA, Air-Conditioning and Energy Solutions business unit. “As we continue to bring innovative and energy-efficient products to market, it is critical that we support our brand with the right technology and training to ensure success.”

The new facility will provide focused training rooms for education on LG’s Multi-V applied commercial systems, duct-free mini split and PTAC systems, as well as layout and model selection software. Hands-on training will provide detailed experiences with LG’s products in diverse situations for full application training. Attendees will have the option of participating in half-day courses for a basic introduction or a more intensive five-day training session for detailed content.

The Chicago facility, the first in the Midwest and LG’s fifth training academy in the United States, will focus on educating a diverse audience on LG’s advanced applied commercial products, duct-free and energy-efficient solutions, and other products.

LG opened its first CAC training academy in Georgia in 2009 and has since opened additional facilities in California, Texas, and New Jersey to better serve a growing national customer base.

As a result, LG has trained thousands of contractors, installers, and engineers at these existing facilities.
