HAVERHILL, MA — The Massachu-setts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) has honored Climate Design Systems with a special safety award. The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) certificate was presented to the company.

The STEP program is a self-audit developed by the national ABC. Climate Design voluntarily conducted a STEP audit to analyze and make improvements to its safety and loss prevention program.

“As Climate Design continues to grow, it’s increasingly important to make sure that the work environment is as safe as possible,” said Robert T. Aziz, company safety director.

Some safety initiatives Climate Design is currently undertaking include becoming certified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), complying to OSHA guidelines, training employees in CPR, and completing safety inspections of all vehicles, buildings, and tools.
