COURSE TITLE: YT/YK Centrifugal Chiller & Compressor Overhaul (#2107)

LOCATION: Houston

COURSE DESCRIPTION: In this course, service personnel will become familiar with the operation and maintenance of centrifugal systems. Students will review R-11, R-123, R-22, and R-134a single-stage centrifugal chillers. They will also learn the internal workings of the compressor, oil return system, lube circuit, purge, and heat exchangers. The OptiView Control Center plus preventive maintenance and system checkout procedures are also addressed along with a hands-on teardown and rebuild of a YK centrifugal compressor. Topics include refrigeration theory; centrifugal compressor theory of operation; YT/YK chiller design and component functionality and YT/YK maintenance; seasonal start-up; unit troubleshooting; compressor teardown/reassembly; OptiView basics, operation, start-up, and troubleshooting; high-speed thrust bearing limit switch; refrigerant level control; and oil pump variable-speed drive.
