NEW ORLEANS - The Chiller Systems Group held its spring meeting, hosted by ChillCo Inc., at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans. Over 100 members and guests representing independent chiller service contractors from all over the United States and Canada attended the meeting. It included a new technical discussion format with roundtable discussions on Micro Control Systems (MCS) control and Hanbell compressor retrofits, Turbocor compressor retrofits, chiller overhauls, variable-speed drive and MCS panel interface retrofits for chillers, government contracting, and commissioning. Bryan Strode of Entech Sales & Service was presented with the Pat Rucker Award, a special achievement award for outstanding leadership in supporting The Chiller Systems Group. The group also conducted an inaugural meeting for a “Controls Systems Group” to facilitate technology sharing and best practices for building automation systems.
The 2009 fall meeting will be held Oct. 2-3 in Kansas City, Mo., and will be hosted by US Engineering Inc.
