S-series variable-frequency AC drives feature Space Vector PWM technology (SVPWM) for improved efficiency and extended motor life. The drives have high base carrier frequencies (15kHz) for quiet operation with derating, the company states. Three control modes are standard: sensorless vector, closed loop vector, and SVPWM V/Hz. Motor parameter; auto tuning; removable/downloadable straight-line 32-character keypad display; PID; fieldbus communications; and 56-step, built-in, PLC sequence capability features are standard. According to the manufacturer, the drives deliver a very smooth current/torque spectrum for reduced motor heat, thereby leading to a longer life.
