SYRACUSE, NY — Carrier Corp. has announced that it has commercial products in every hvac product category that meet or exceed the requirements of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)/Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Standard 90.1-1999, “Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings.” The standard goes into effect in several states on Oct. 29, 2001. Standard 90.1-1999 updates building construction standards covering all aspects of a building as it relates to energy, including insulation, lighting, hvac, and controls.

“Building owners, contractors, and specifying engineers have been asking for more energy-efficient products for some time now,” said John Malloy, president of Carrier’s North American hvac organization. “This year, Carrier upgraded existing products, and launched new product, for its most efficient commercial products lineup ever. Every product category now contains products that meet or exceed Standard 90.1.”
