The upgraded Advanced Product Monitor™ (APM) kit can be used in combination with a laptop computer or Palm Computing® device to connect directly to the manufacturer’s variable-speed gas furnaces. This allows the service tech to read more than 70 data points, such as status code history, operating cycles, operating hours, and target operating parameters, from the furnace’s control center. The updated ECM (Electrically Commutated Motor) Simulator kit permits the tech to troubleshoot inducer/blower motor-related problems by simulating the ECM 2.5 motor used in the company’s 58MVP Series 171 and the WeatherMaker® 8000 variable-speed 58CVA furnaces.
