CHANTILLY, Va. — The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) College of Fellows has awarded three $1,200 scholarships for the 2003-2004 academic year. The recipients are:
Natalie Dvorak, of Kohler, Wis., who will attend the University of Wisconsin and study medicine. Her father, Alan Dvorak, is employed by Aldag/Honold Mechanical Inc., Sheboygan, Wis., a member of the East Central Wisconsin Sheet Metal Contractors Association. Stacy Peck, of Sacramento, Calif., who will attend the University of the Pacific and study pharmacology. Her father, Gary Peck, is employed by Lawson Mechanical Contractors, Sacramento, Calif., a member of the SMACNA – Sacramento Valley Chapter. Melissa Smuck, of Rohnert Park, Calif., who will attend California Polytechnic State University and study secondary English education. Her father, Jim Smuck, is employed by JMS Mechanical, Petaluma, Calif., a member of the Bay Area Association of SMACNA Chapters.SMACNA College of Fellows scholarships are open to freshman and/or undergraduate college students whose parents are employed by SMACNA members. Criteria for selection include academic goals, academic achievement, and involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Since 1987, more than $230,000 in scholarships has been awarded.
