  • The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) (Falls Church, VA) has made new appointments to its Educational Foundation. James Driscoll Jr. will serve as the new chairman of the foundation, and Christopher T. Moyer has been appointed to the foundation’s Board of Governors.
  • Gus Yepiz, member of the Calgary (AB) Chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) , has earned the distinction of Certificate Member Specialist (CMS) in Electrical. Also, Dave Clark, RSES member of the Gateway Chapter in Edmonton, AB, has earned a CMS in Domestic Refrigeration.
  • The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) (Rosslyn, VA) has released ICS, Industrial Control and Systems, Control Circuit and Pilot Devices.   • The National Fire Protection Association has been chosen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer a voluntary consensus process. Its recommendations is expected help the HUD Secretary enhance federal manufactured home construction and safety standards.
  • ExxonMobil is offering Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) (Rockville, MD) members a discount on a fleet fueling program to help reduce company fuel costs and produce customized reports to monitor, control, and manage fleet fuel purchases.   • The Refrigeration Services Engineers Society (RSES) (Des Plaines, IL) unveiled its new Service Application Manuals (SAM) on CD Version 2.0 at its 64th Annual Conference in Milwaukee, WI. For more information, go to www.rses.org.
  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, VA) recently elected five members to its board of directors at its annual business meeting in Boca Raton, FL. Elected to four-year terms were Jordan Ehrenkranz, William Freese, Kim Martin, and Douglas McQuown. John Lindemulder was elected to serve a two-year term.
  • Also at its annual business meeting, SMACNA presented two awards. Association executive director Thomas J. Gunning received the Petersen-Dunn Executive of the Year Award, and former association president David Norris won the Contractor of the Year award.
