Associations For The Week: 10/28/2002

  • The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (Quincy, MA) has announced that the state of Kentucky has adopted the most recent editions of NFPA 1, Fire Prevention Code™, NFPA 101, Life Safety Code®, and 183 other NFPA codes and standards.

  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, VA) has published the third edition of its “HVAC Systems—Testing, Adjusting and Balancing” manual. The publication is available for purchase at www.smacna.org (website).

  • The Lima Area Mechanical Contractors Association (LAMCA) (Dayton, OH) requested affiliation with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA). LAMCA will become the association’s 89th local affiliate.

  • The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) (Mississauga, ON, Canada) has appointed two new staff members. Linda Hylton has been named as a Member Services Representatives, Receptionist, and Heather Grimoldby was named program coordinator for the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC).
