  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) elected Keith Wilson the 2005-06 SMACNA president.

  • The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) partnered with Market Hardware to offer Web site design and hosting services for members.

  • The National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) is releasing the 2005 Design Phase Commissioning Handbook.

  • The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) hosted its annual educational foundation golf tournament, raising $5,000 for P-H-C business management education.

  • The Canadian Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Wholesalers (CHRAW) appointed Pierre Martin as CHRAW chair at the association's annual general meeting.

  • The Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Institute (HRAI) recently appointed Mike Burns the chair of HRAI Canada. They also selected Mark Boncardo as chair of the HRAI Manufacturers Division.

  • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) (Arlington, Va.) has changed its Consumer Contractor Connection (CCC). Contractors can sign up online for the CCC Locator, which allows consumers to find a company by zip code proximity. Twenty-five percent of the company's technicians must have current NATE certification in order to be eligible for this service. Find more info at www.natex.org.

  • The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) elected Jim Finley vice president.

  • The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) earned an award of excellence from the Web Marketing Association for its site www.ashrae.org.

  • The Carbon Monoxide Safety Association (COSA), which recently unveiled its new Web site, www.cosafety.org, will be demonstrating calibration on Bacharach CO and combustion analyzers at the ABCO trade show, Nov. 9.

  • The Air Movement And Control Association International Inc. (AMCA International) had its "ANSI/AMCA 250-2005 Laboratory Methods of Testing Jet Tunnel Fans for Performance" document approved as an American national standard by ANSI. For more information, visit www.amca.org.

  • The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC) reappointed Nancy McKeraghan board of directors chair for her second term.
