  • The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International (Washington, DC) named its new leaders at the organization’s recent annual convention. Larry F. Soehren has been named president, John P. Kelly has been named president-elect, Steve Ford has been named vice president, and Richard D. Purtell has been named secretary-treasurer-elect.

  • The American Indoor Air Quality (AmIAQ) Council (Glendale, AZ) has introduced its Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager™ (CIAQM™) certification course.   • Members of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (Toronto, ON, Canada) recently donated $555,000 to Habitat for Humanity Canada. Since 1994, the association has donated $1,689,878 to Habitat for Humanity. For more information on this organization, visit www.ciph.com (website).

  • The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) (Des Plaines, IL) has released version 2.1 of its Service Application Manual (SAM) on CD software. Users of the software will be able to access thousands of pages including technical data, field application instructions, regulations, and business development guidance.   • The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) (Rockville, MD) has announced that its 19th student chapter is taking shape at Washington State University (Pullman, WA). This will be the third student chapter formed within the last year and is sponsored by the MCA of Western Washington.

  • The Association of Subcontractors & Affiliates of Chicago (ASA) (Des Plaines, IL) will hold its first annual “Trot for Tots” on Aug. 9, at Arlington International Racecourse’s Million Platform Room in Arlington Heights, IL.   • The board of directors of the International Code Council (ICC) (Falls Church, VA) has named Bob Heinrich as CEO of the organization.
