The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) (Arlington, VA) is reminding homeowners that the period from July 3 – Aug. 15 has been named “Air Conditioning Appreciation Days.” ARI wants consumers to care for their air conditioning equipment and has made available a list of answers to common consumer questions about their comfort systems. The list can be found by going to www.ari.org (website).

Roger Peugeot, owner of Roger the Plumber (Overland, KS), has been named a contractor founder of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association’s (PHCC’s) (Falls Church, VA) Educational Foundation Board of Governors.

The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (Columbus, OH) is calling for nominations for the 2002 National Board Safety Medal Award. Nominations must be received by Dec. 31, 2002. For more information, call 614-888-8320 or go to www.nationalboard.org (website).

Arthur E. Cote, P.E. has been promoted to the new position of executive vice president for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (Quincy, MA). Cote was senior vice president of operations and chief engineer at NFPA.
