  • The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC-NA) announces that Terry Peters is no longer associated with the organization. The PHCC-NA president Mike Kastner explained that the board of directors will immediately begin the search for a new executive vice president.
  • Jack Hasick, certified manager of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has been elected international president of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) for this year. Hasick was elected at the annual RSES Educational Conference and HVAC/R Expo held in Biloxi, MS.
  • The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), in accordance with true consensus codes, submitted an application of accreditation as a standards developer by the American National Standards Institute under the Organizational Method. Seeking to have the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC) designated as American National Standards, the company has continually been accredited under the Committee Method as a Standards Developing Organization (SDO).
  • The Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA’s) board of directors has approved the application for a chapter in Memphis, TN. The chapter includes founding members Ben J. Malone Co., Damon-Marcus Co., Morgan & Thornburg Inc., and Walker-J-Walker Inc. The chapter encompasses Memphis as well as several counties in Mississippi and Arkansas.
