ASHRAE, USACE Sign Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC — Under a new partnering agreement, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have agreed to work cooperatively to improve hvacr technologies and applications.

“ASHRAE’s agreement with USACE will allow us to keep communications open, continue our cooperation, and contribute to the growth of each organization,” said ASHRAE president William Coad, P.E.

According to ASHRAE, there are several goals for the partnership. They include:

  • Continuing communication between both parties, including mutual briefings on activities, programs, meetings, and conferences;
  • Cooperation in the areas of research projects, standards development, possibilities for funding and promotion, etc.;
  • Advancement of engineering and technical professional development through active participation;
  • Provision of mutual assistance in areas of education and training; and
  • Promotion of energy efficiency, environmental stewardship, and improved indoor environmental quality in the built environment.
