ASE Americas, a manufacturer of solar electric wafers, cells, and modules, recently celebrated the completion of a major expansion of its facility in Billerica, MA. This increases ASE’s solar wafer production capacity from 12 to 20 MW per year at the plant.

“We have stepped beyond 25 years of research and development in the solar electric industry into a new and exciting production phase using ASE’s proven technology,” said Tom Zarrella, chief operating officer. “We are well-positioned to greatly expand the number of applications using ASE modules, and increase our portfolio of products to meet customer needs.”

The company says that it has grown 40% per year for the last five years.
