ARLINGTON, VA — Last year, more than 140 instructors from secondary and post-secondary hvacr programs from across the country met here for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute’s (ARI’s) Instructor Workshop. This year, the workshop is scheduled for March 14-15, 2002.

“The Hvacr Instructor Workshop is an excellent way for instructors in our industry to ensure that the most current information is being taught to students who subsequently become employees,” said Scott Boxer, chairman of ARI’s Education and Training Committee.

Representatives from Sporlan Valve, Lennox Industries, Carrier Corp., and Snap-On Tools will participate in discussions during the workshop. Other topics scheduled for this year include contractor/wholesaler panel discussions, North American Technician Excellence (NATE), the Council of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators (CARE), the Industry Competency Exam (ICE), legislative issues, and much more.

There is no fee for the workshop, but attendees must pay their own travel expenses. Attendance is limited and registration is under way. For more information, contact ARI’s director of education, Leslie Sandler, at 703-524-8800 or lsandler@ari.org (e-mail).
