The 1,460 participants of the exam represented 138 different schools. Students and instructors were eligible to take any one of the three exams or one air-conditioning and heating exam and the commercial refrigeration exam.
Each exam contained 100 multiple-choice questions and 60% was passing on each exam.

Light Commercial Air Conditioning and Heating: Score Distribution: 6-98 Passing Rate: 68%
Residential Air Conditioning and Heating: Score Distribution: 14-98 Passing Rate: 63%
Commercial Refrigeration: Score Distribution: 22-98 Passing Rate: 47%
