ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has released the April results of its Contractor Comfort Index (CCI), a leading economic indicator for HVACR businesses. According to the association, the CCI continued its upward trend, reflecting a gradual improvement of the short-term economic outlook for the heating, cooling, and refrigeration industry. The April CCI hit 65, up from 60 in March and 55 in February.
The CCI is based each month on a survey of the association’s contractor members, who are asked how positive they feel about new business prospects, existing business activity, and expected staffing decisions for the short-term future.
Weighted and averaged into one number, a CCI of 50 or above reflects anticipated economic growth.
Released prior to the start of each month, the next CCI will be issued the week of May 24.
