Apr. 16, 2002: General Electric To Eliminate 7,000 Jobs
NEW YORK, NY — General Electric announced yesterday that it will eliminate 7,000 jobs, or 2.3% of its 310,000 employees.
GE stock was the most active on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, down 4.6% to $32 a share after a newspaper report questioned the company’s accounting, according to CNBC.
