AMCA To Test Duct Silencers

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA), is in the process of constructing a test facility to support its Certified Ratings Program for duct silencer testing as described in AMCA International’s Publication 1011, “Certified Ratings Program Acoustical Duct Silencers.” The publication provides a detailed description of the procedures under which AMCA International’s Certified Ratings Seal is issued for acoustical silencers. According to AMCA, the test facility should be operational in the first quarter of 2002.

The new acoustical duct silencer test facility is part of an expansion project that began in 1996. The expansion added 17,000 sq ft of testing area to AMCA International’s headquarters based in Arlington Heights, IL.
