AgION™ is a long-lasting, in-organic material containing silver that it used as an antimicrobial steel coating for HVAC systems. The Environmental Protection Agency registered the use of the company’s antimicrobial steel compound in HVAC systems. According to the manufacturer, the antimicrobial-coated steel is more economical than postfabrication and postinstallation antimicrobial paint systems. The coating is applied to flat rolled stainless and carbon steels. The company’s antimicrobial-coated steel is coated with a compound developed by AgION Technologies.
