ACCA Offers Commercial Load Calculation Course

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) added a new course for commercial contractors to its fall schedule. "The Fundamentals of Commercial Load Calculation and System Design" class will meet Oct. 11-13 in Detroit.

According to the association, the course teaches simplified, practical procedures for calculating the various components of a commercial facility's heating and cooling load. Emphasis is placed on identifying and calculating peak load conditions, but discussion will also be directed at understanding the structure's needs under part-load conditions. Contractors will first study Manual N commercial load calculation fundamentals, then learn Wrightsoft's Right-N computerized commercial load calculation program.

The class provides continuing education units plus 20 hours toward North American Technician Excellence (NATE) recertification. Fees are $450 for ACCA members and $495 for nonmembers; Manual N and demo software is included. To register, contact Chris Hoelzel at 703-824-8851 or visit www.acca.org/register.
