The functions and features typical of large-horsepower drives are packaged inside the ACS 140 low-horsepower drive, says the company. The drive is able to respond to input signal changes in as little as 8 millisec, one of the fastest in the industry, the company says. The drive handles a 1/2- to 3-hp range, in 200- to 240-vac single- and three-phase and 380- to 480-vac three-phase ranges. The drive’s thermal design also optimizes convection, so a cooling fan is not required, says the manufacturer.
