The American Subcontractors Association (ASA) Midwest Council held its inaugural Partners in Construction event on “How to Prepare a Winning Bid” on April 26 at the Mason Contractors Association in Richmond Heights, Mo. The program drew 135 construction industry attendees and featured representatives from seven St. Louis general contractors: Alberici Constructors, ARCO Construction, McCarthy Building Companies, McGrath & Associates, Rhodey Construction, Sitelines, and Volk Construction.

Attendees learned such things as how a bid is evaluated by a general contractor; the ramifications of qualifying items out of a bid, backing out late, or not providing scope letters; and insight from some general contractors, recognized by the ASA-Midwest Council for their ethics and fair treatment of subcontractors.
