WASHINGTON — The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International presented 66 buildings with the BOMA 360 Performance Program® designation in the first quarter of 2012. According to the organization, these buildings join a growing number of best-in-class properties to receive the designation since its launch in 2009. BOMA 360 now includes 420 buildings in 55 markets.

“Tenants, owners, and all stakeholders have seen that BOMA 360 buildings exceed industry standards on every level,” said Boyd R. Zoccola, BOMA International chair and executive vice president of Hokanson Companies Inc. “The growing number of buildings seeking the BOMA 360 designation demonstrates the importance of this third party validation that signifies a building is operated and managed to the highest standard.”

The BOMA 360 Performance Program evaluates properties in six major areas: building operations and management; life safety/security/risk management; training and education; energy; environment/sustainability; and tenant relations/community involvement. The comprehensive nature of BOMA 360 means that every aspect of building performance is assessed, and scores are based on how buildings meet an extensive checklist of best practices.
