RICHMOND, Va. — Insparisk has launched Monument Inspection Services to provide boiler and pressure vessel inspections in the state of Virginia. A subsidiary of Insparisk, Monument will provide jurisdictional inspections for low- and high-pressure boilers, water heaters, and air tanks.

Fred Barton, the recently retired chief boiler inspector, Department of Labor and Industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia, will serve as technical director, Monument Inspection Services. The company will serve the entire Commonwealth including Richmond, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and the Washington, D.C., suburbs in northern Virginia.

The company’s inspectors will use mobile tablets in the field and advanced online software, to provide efficient and accurate services. All safety inspection information will be accessible for customers online via a secure Website. Information available online will include account data, job status, and digital photographs. The site also allows fee payments online.

The company estimates that there are 70,000 inspectable objects in Virginia, including unfired pressure vessels, water heaters, air tanks, and low-pressure boilers. Inspections have been required in Virginia since 1974. Commercial buildings and residential buildings that have more than four families must be inspected biannually.
