OTTAWA — Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) in conjunction with the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) hosted a consultation meeting on a proposed Energy Star® specification for heat recovery ventilators (HRVs) for Canada. NRCan is currently evaluating the process for developing a specification for HRVs for Canada.

This process will look at all of the elements that should be considered in measuring energy performance and assessing what should be considered for a high-performance Energy Star level and associated metric.

The agency will also be developing a framework for the delivery of this specification and will consult with stakeholders to help by providing market and product information for products sold in Canada.

For more information, contact Caroline Czajko 800-267-2231 ext. 234 or e-mail her at cczajko@hrai.ca.
