MOPIA Holds Climate Change Conference

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Manitoba Ozone Protection Industry Association (MOPIA), in collaboration with Climate Change Connection and the Manitoba Environmental Industries Association (MEIA), is hosting the 2008 Manitoba Climate Change Conference and Earth Forum on April 22-23 at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The event will include up to 300 delegates and 25 exclusive trade show exhibitors in addition to attracting the media and the general public on Earth Day, April 22, 2008. A special evening public forum on alternative energy will be held hosted by former Canadian Governor General, The Rt. Hon. Edward Schreyer. Several other leading speakers will be present including a representative from the United Nations Environment Programme; David Hughes, Peak Oil; Warren Heeley, Refrigerant Management Canada; Janos Mate, Greenpeace International; Terry Zdan, Sustainable Transport Institute; and Dr. C. Emdad Haque, Natural Resources Institute; among others.

Policy makers, business owners, educators, public, government leaders, consultants, and anyone affected and interested in the emerging climate change paradigm are encouraged to attend.
