The second generation of the Comfort Control System (CC²S) is available. The new HVAC control panel provides a combination of advanced diagnostics and customizable system control. The Prestige Series 16 SEER, R-410A heat pump with Serial Communications (RPRL-024JEC), is among the first products manufactured with the new CC²S control board. A new feature of the CC²S technology is its auto-configure capability. When the Series 500 thermostat is used in tandem with the controller, the contractor can set up the system, simultaneously monitor the air handler and heat pump, and customize the home comfort settings from one location. Also, the thermostat and control panel offers the homeowner seven-day programmability; humidity control; system status notification; and maintenance reminders, such as the need to change filters, UV lights, and humidifier pads. The control panel offers easy four-wire installation and a detailed display of the unit’s operating history. A control board located on the indoor and outdoor units features an easy-to-read, dual seven-segment LED display that provides up to 37 individual fault codes and a defrost component, eliminating the need for a secondary defrost board and reducing the number of individual parts that need service or maintenance.
