NORMAN, Okla. — Johnson Controls recently held a Special Ops Boot Camp, “a prestigious training program designed to equip York®, Coleman®, and Luxaire® territory managers (TMs) for success.” The boot camp was held at the headquarters of the Unitary Products division of Johnson Controls.

In order to qualify for the Special Ops Boot Camp, TMs must graduate from Basic Training Boot Camp with a score of at least 85 percent and spend the following six months in the field.

The Special Ops Boot Camp included an overview of brand strategy, training on the In-Home Selling Tool, and information about the Liberties™ program that supplies York, Coleman, and Luxaire dealers with additional business support such as advertising, marketing materials, and other online e-business tools. It also covered a variety of other topics, including lessons on dealer acquisition, a review of consultative selling, and an updated overview of the HVAC contracting business in the current challenging marketplace.

“The Special Ops Boot Camp provides TMs with the knowledge they need to guide the business success of HVAC dealers,” said Natalie DeRousse, sales training manager for Johnson Controls-Unitary Products.

At the conclusion of the program, Johnson Controls recognized Ryan Kalmbach, territory manager with distributor Johnstone Supply in Fresno, Calif., as the top graduate. For his efforts and highest overall quiz and test scores, Kalmbach received a $500 Best Buy gift card.
