The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Energy Star program now offers a suite of Internet-based training sessions at no cost in order to show companies how to incorporate energy efficiency into an organization’s planning process.

Energy Star identifies a few examples where the program can provide solutions, including local governments establishing procurement specs, school districts designing new buildings, and colleges looking to finance new HVAC equipment. Participants in these live sessions will exchange ideas on a toll-free conference call while logged into a presentation on the Internet.

They will also interact with energy or financial consultants during a 30 to 60 minute session. This month Energy Star will present “Introduction to the Cash Flow Opportunity Calculator Spreadsheet.” This interactive session focuses on how to use operating budgets as a potential source of revenue to pay for energy-efficient projects.
