EXETER, N.H. — Doug Kumph, P.E., director of field support services for TradeWinds Mechanical Services, passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP exam, becoming an accredited professional. TradeWinds said that it is positioning itself as a leader in the environmental movement, specifically with its green building facility maintenance services. “We are gearing up to be on the forefront of changes in the way buildings are built and maintained with an increasing emphasis on environmental impact and energy costs, as well as human safety, comfort, and productivity. Eventually this system will become code,” said Kumph.

“The LEED system, which defines and measures green buildings, is the standard,” noted Steve Sewall, president and general manager of TradeWinds. “And LEED accreditation is becoming more and more recognized in the industry. Since we want to provide innovative services to our customers, this is a way to do that, especially as many retailers are building their own LEED stores.” TradeWinds’ headquarters building, in Exeter, N.H., is a LEED building built for the company in 2008 and occupied last September.

TradeWinds Mechanical Services supplies HVACR services for retail and commercial properties from Maine to Virginia. For more information, visit www.twhvac.com.
