September 20, 2019

ST. LOUIS — Nortek Global HVAC, a manufacturer of HVAC equipment, was recognized recently by the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) for a spotless safety record at its 350,000-square-foot Dyersburg, Tennessee, manufacturing plant.

The Dyersburg facility, one of only nine facilities in the state to earn the award this year, worked more than 824,058 hours without a lost time workplace injury or illness to qualify for the Commissioner’s Award of Excellence.

“Nortek Global HVAC has demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, said Steve Hawkins, deputy commissioner of employment safety and security, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, who presented the award with Wendy Fisher, assistant commissioner, TOSHA, at the recent Tennessee Safety and Health Conference in Nashville.

The Dyersburg plant manufactures a variety of HVAC equipment; however, it recently developed a state-of-the-art mission critical cooling product line for the ServerCool branded CDU1200, a powerful CDU (coolant distribution unit) for data centers. Employees building the CDU1200 and other HVAC equipment at the plant have been provided important safety and ergonomic equipment, such as safety lifts, carts, and other tools that rival the manufacturing industry’s assembly safety processes, according to Aaron Tiede, director of North American operations.
