Duct manufacturer plans $50 million investment
Kentuckiana Curb Co. plans to hire 400 new workers with investment in a new facility.
Within five years, Kentuckiana Curb Co. in Louisville, Kentucky, expects to add 400 jobs as part of a $50 million investment in a new facility, the Louisville Courier Journal reports.
The heating, cooling and roofing equipment manufacturer made the announcement last week after the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved a package "totaling up to $6.5 million in job-related incentives with $500,000 more in incentives toward construction and building investments." The Courier Journal reports:
Production at the planned facility will include design and manufacturing of HVAC equipment and sheet metal products. KCC currently employs 512 people at its Grassland Drive location in Louisville.
The new jobs will pay $29 an hour in wages and benefits, and will be added gradually, with 100 workers brought on in the first year after the facility opens and all 400 in the door in the fifth year.
The expansion is a sign of growth for the State of Kentucky as other states more dependent on metals affected by steel tariffs fight to keep their manufacturing operations afloat.
“KCC is extremely excited to further its partnership with the commonwealth of Kentucky and Louisville Forward by committing to the construction of a brand new facility here in Louisville,” says Tony Balbach, the company's chief financial officer, in the statement.
Kentuckiana Curb Co. is a subsidiary of Kentuckiana Comfort Center.
