After failed negotiation talks between the U.S. and the Chinese goverment, President Trump has increased tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese imports. In support of his actions, Trump tweeted:
Despite the new tariffs, trade negotiations are expected to continue into next week, the White House says. Fox New reports,
“Talks with China continue in a very congenial manner - there is absolutely no need to rush - as Tariffs are NOW being paid to the United States by China of 25% on 250 Billion Dollars worth of goods & products," President Trump said in another tweet. "These massive payments go directly to the Treasury of the U.S....”
The president added that the U.S. would “continue to negotiate with China in the hopes that they do not again try to redo” the deal.
