Technician organization names board members
Representatives from Lennox, Pennsylvania College of Technology and HVAC market magazines are among the members of North American Technician Excellence’s 2016 board of trustees.
Wade Mayfield, president of Thermal Services Inc. of Omaha, Nebraska, will continue as board chairman. Mayfield has been involved in the HVAC business for more than 13 years. Gary Bedard of Lennox Industries will continue as secretary/treasurer. Former Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Donald Frendberg continues as immediate past chairman. The board voted to renew the terms of the following members: Chris Baker, Value Added Distributors; Marc Bridgens, Pennsylvania College of Technology; Dan Foley, Foley Mechanical; Mike Murphy, the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News (like Snips, owned by BNP Media); and Terry Tanker, HVACR Business magazine.
David McIlwaine, president, CEO and founder of HVAC Distributors in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, was elected vice chairman. Also named vice chairwoman was Laura DiFilippo. DiFilippo is vice President and co-owner of DiFilippo’s Service Co., a residential heating and air-conditioning HVAC market contractor in Paoli, Pennsylvania. She has sat on the directors board with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America’s Delaware Valley Chapter for 14 years, serving as chapter president for five years. She was ACCA chairwoman in 2012-2013.
Other NATE board members include: Michael R. Copp, executive vice president, Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association; Mike Hellman, Penton Media; Stephen D. Kennedy of Georgia Power, representing the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers; Matthew Pine, vice president of HVAC residential marketing for Carrier; and Brent Schroeder, president, air conditioning division, Emerson Climate Technologies.
John Lanier, NATE’s chief executive officer, said the board is a great group of people.
“We are pleased to have such an esteemed group of industry stakeholders who are willing to volunteer their time to serve on the NATE board of trustees and we thank them,” he said. “Such a diverse representation from education, distribution, contracting, manufacturing and utilities, demonstrates the value of NATE certification throughout the HVACR and energy efficiency supply chain. We look forward to working with them as we move NATE forward in 2016.”
