Texas HVAC construction contractor looking to donate $1,000 to charity
A Dallas HVAC construction contractor is asking customers to post about its favorite charities on its Facebook page.
Berkeys Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical said it will make a $1,000 donation to the most deserving charity selected by the staff of the HVAC market company.
The contest runss through Dec. 21.
"The Dallas metroplex has a lot of great local charities,” said company President Jamie Wooldridge. “We really wanted to give our Facebook followers and the public an opportunity to showcase the charities they love, support and volunteer or work at. And the end result is one charity will receive a $1,000 donation on behalf of Berkeys and the person who had the winning submission."
Company officials said they believe it’s important to give back to the communities where they conduct HVAC sales.
"Berkeys supports various charities throughout the year, but one which is near and dear to our hearts is Grace Grapevine,” Wooldridge said. “In fact, we just started a toy-drive to help provide toys for families that are a part of the Grace Christmas cottage. We figured with dozens of trucks servicing customers throughout the DFW metroplex, why not allow our customers to donate gifts which we can collect on behalf of that organization.
"There's so many great local charities, we wish we could help them all," he added, "but this Facebook contest is just one way we thought we could help raise awareness for other charities and organizations in Dallas-Fort Worth, and we hope it might inspire other organizations and members of our community to get involved by volunteering and donating their time, talent and money. Everyone working together to help those in need is what makes our city one of the best in the United States and the world."
