The units can be matched with Unico’s air handlers and high-wall units, allowing both to be used with single outdoor unit. The iSeries can cool one area that has no space for ductwork, while a Unico small duct system can supply the rest of the structure, proving a green HVAC system, officials say.

“The iSeries is a great choice for challenging projects such as tight spaces, or retrofits that require preserving the original architectural features,” said Scott Intagliata, Unico’s marketing director.

Contractors have been able to place orders since May 1 and deliveries are now under way.

“A number of contractors were immediately interested in the iSeries,” Intagliata said. “They liked the fact that for the first time one outdoor unit can power both ducted and ductless indoor units. It offers more flexibility in solving design or construction challenges. It also features a high SEER (seasonal energy-efficiency ratio) rating for better energy efficiency.”
