Trimble now offers Field Link 2.20, a new version of its software for building construction layout.

The updated version, which incorporates Trimble Field Link for MEP and Trimble Field Link for Structures, includes extended capabilities for HVAC construction contractors and field workers, adding customized viewing tables, task-based work flows and a touch screen interface.

To find a point’s exact location, users can now visualize where they sit in the 3-D model relative to the layout point.

Trimble also announced collaboration with software maker Bentley Systems designed to boost communication between design teams and field workers. It allows users to share 3-D models with Field Link 2.20 using Bentley’s i-Model technology.

Trimble Field Link now includes the ability to use Bentley’s mobile applications and models.

“By joining forces with Bentley, Trimble is giving contractors and other building construction professionals greater choice, accuracy and flexibility in performing their field layout tasks,” said Mark Sawyer, general manager of Trimble Building Group’s general manager/construction manager division. “Our companies share complementary visions of boosting productivity in all facets of construction projects, and we’re pleased to connect our advanced technologies to deliver greater benefits to the industry.”
