Water Furnace International Inc. said May 6 it is buying Chillit Chillers, a maker of HVAC market products based in Goshen, Ind.

Terms were not disclosed.

Chillit sells specialty chillers and geothermal heat pumps for HVAC construction in commercial and industrial use.

“The acquisition of Chillit fits well into our long term commercial strategy and strengthens our position in that market,” said Herb Batrouny, a senior vice president at WaterFurnace, which also makes green HVAC geothermal equipment for the HVAC market. “Chillit not only expands our product line to 500 tons but also provides us with new technologies and access into adjacent markets.”

Chillit’s Goshen facilities will remain open while WaterFurnace examines its options, officials said.

“We’re excited to partner with Chillit Chillers,” said WaterFurnace President and CEO Tom Huntington. “The Chillit brand has developed a strong reputation for quality innovation. Their strengths complement our own and align with our long-term growth objectives. We welcome them into the WaterFurnace family.”
