VMZinc-US and Umicore Building Products USA Inc. was one of the winners of the 2013 Chairman’s Awards from the Metal Construction Association.

The zinc products manufacturer, whose products are sold by Umicore, won the commercial and industrial category award for the use of its products on the Cirrus Logic Building in Austin, Texas. The building uses a corrugated, insulated and interlocking zinc panels in its parking structure. 

“VMZinc is very proud to be recognized by the MCA in its 2013 Chairman’s Awards,” said Daniel Nicely, managing director at VMZinc -US and Umicore Building Products USA Inc. “We sought to make the Cirrus Logic headquarters building aesthetically pleasing as well as functional through the use of our products, and we humbled to see our efforts included among such a list of inspirational and incredible building projects nationwide.”

The award was presented at Tuesday at Metalcon, which was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
