The group’s Contractor Comfort Index number for March is 69. The number is higher than in March 2011, when it sat at 62 - the first time in 10 months that Air Conditioning Contractors of America members have felt more confident than a year earlier. The index represents the surveyed short-term outlook of member companies. A number over 50 represents positive feelings on the economy, which higher figures demonstrating more confidence.
The next survey will be released at the end of the month.
