DeWalt, a maker of industrial power tools, said the Energy Star rating covers the company’s nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion batteries.

The DC9310 battery charger system and compatible battery packs from DeWalt have earned the EPA’s Energy Star designation.

DeWalt, a maker of industrial power tools, said the Energy Star rating covers the company’s nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion batteries.

Energy Star is a certification program jointly administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Department. Certified items can be expected to use less energy than noncertified similar devices.

“DeWalt is committed to meeting end users’ needs by developing innovative products that are tough enough to withstand jobsite demands,” said Frank Mannarino, DeWalt’s vice president of cordless product development. “Likewise, DeWalt takes the extra steps needed to ensure that users can feel good about using battery charger systems that use less energy than their counterparts.”
